IMPROV COACHING:
I've been studying at UCB (NY&LA) and the Magnet Theater (NY) since 2005 (THAT IS 100 YEARS, YOU GUYS!) I've studied with Armando Diaz, Ian Roberts, Anthony King, Neil Campbell, Bobby Moynihan, Christina Gausas, Becky Drysdale, Suzi Barrett, Joe Wengert, Eugene Cordero, Curtis Gwinn, Alex Fernie, and many, many more masterful teachers. Let me pass their knowledge on to you!
In Los Angeles, I performed with the UCB Harold Team Mister Town City, Mess Hall team LaserDisc, and hosted Mach Improv. In New York, I was on the Magnet Theater house team Featherweight for 3 years, and performed in many other shows at the Magnet and UCB Theater (Choose Your Own Adventure, One Night Stand, The Comic Book, & more).
I'm excited to work with new teams and practice groups! I like to focus on: getting more out of the first two lines of your scene, using philosophy and point of view to demystify game, and committing emotionally to the reality around you. I love working with class practice groups who want to get in reps between classes. I can workout Harolds. I have experience with many forms, and I'm happy to work on: Monoscene, Evente, Movie, Deconstruction, The Sleepover, or something new!
*** I have taken classes with Armando DIaz specifically designed to make me a better improv coach and teacher!***
VIDEO SKETCH/WEB SERIES COACHING AND DIRECTING:
I have been directing, writing, and producing web series and videos for Channel 101, Conan's Team Coco, Nerdist.com, Screen Junkies, and more, for over 10 years. If you have a web series or sketch team who would like to make videos, I can coach your team or produce & direct your content. Check out my website for my resume and reels. (www.notjesslane.com) I'm also available to coach or consult on half-hour pilots - for script notes, independent production, or editing consultations. If you're unsure how I can help, reach out! I'm happy to discuss.
