Suzanne Hitchman

Hi! I am a musical AND non-musical improviser here in NYC. I've been studying and performing Improv since 2011 in both San Francisco and NYC. I'm a performer and student at the Magnet Theater and an Advanced Study Student at UCB. At the Magnet I've studied with Armando Diaz, Michael Lutton and Ryan Duncan. At UCB I've had the pleasure of studying with the lovely Chelsea Clarke, Gavin Speiller, Ryan Karels, Lydia Hensler and Nicole Drespel. I was on a Musical Megawatt house team called Good Company and perform monthly on the Magnet stage with Thank You For Coming Out, an LGBTQ improv show. I also perform on the Pop Up Musicals House Team, Hot Again. In addition to all that business I have performed and will continue to perform on numerous musical and non-musical indy teams. I am super duper bi-prov-ual. Nope. That did not work.

As a teacher and coach I emphasize connecting with your scene partner and teammates, deep and active listening, making choices at the top of your intelligence and supporting the shit out of every thing always. I give direct and constructive notes while maintaining a positive and safe environment for learning and growth. I am attuned to issues of diversity and care about supporting teams foster dynamics where everyone's choices and instincts are valued and played with to the fullest extent. Practice group?
