Chrissie Gruebel

Hey guys! My name is Chrissie and I'd love to work with your improv or sketch group!

To tell you a little about my experience, I perform at Magnet Theater every week with my teams Metal Boy and The Friday Night Sh*w. I also direct the house sketch team Raw Denim. At UCB, I host Indie Cage Match on Sundays with my longtime indie team The Mannequin Room. We also perform our improv show "Spill the T with The Mannequin Room" semi-regularly at UCB. You can also see me on Maude night as a writer for my team, Presley.

As an improv coach, here are some things I love working on:
--Helping everyone get on board with each other as quickly as possible
--Playing the ideas that keep you laughing after practice is over
--Listening and reacting like a real human person with real human emotions
--Supporting scenes without pulling focus

As a sketch director, I run a fun, constructive writers' room. I know how to maximize what's funny and help actors find their voice. I'm also all about bringing theater-nerd stuff to staged performances—incorporating blocking, lighting, sound with a purpose—to make your shows look as polished as they are hilarious.
