Ilan Kaplan

I'm an improviser and educator who's been improvising since 2016 and teaching improv since 2020. I've been on a house team at the Magnet Theater since 2019, and part of the professional touring improv company New York Improv Theater since 2019 as well. I currently coach 3 musical improv teams, including a house team at the Magnet. I also teach a weekly improv class at the NYC Meta offices, and a weekly drop-in class at my own little improv pop-up theater, Funny's Improv (www.funnysimprov.com). I've coached several improvisers onto musical house teams at the Magnet. Were they good enough to make it without me? Probably! Did I help at all? Couldn't have hurt!

I'm a full time actor and improv teacher. During the day I teach educational or corporate workshops or perform in educational and corporate shows, and that schedule changes week to week. That means I have very flexible daytime and weekday availability! I do have a number of teams I'm currently coaching, so my week nights are a bit busy. Hope to work with some of you out there.
